pro secrets: bianca spencer's summer night glam

Bianca Spencer has mastered the art of making hyper glam look effortless. A renowned name in red carpet beauty and a specialist in black skin, she creates looks that are sculpted, luminous, and made to last under heat, lights, and cameras. Her take on summer night glam is minimal product, maximum impact.

Beauty Class: Bianca, I have to say, I gasped when I saw the look you created. It’s so flawless yet light. I got instant “summer night abroad” vibes. Date night, holiday, heat, glam without the weight. Dreamy skin and a juicy lip.

Bianca Spencer: Thank you! I love creating looks that feel glam but still wearable. I always gravitate towards nude lips or something soft, but for this look, they gave me free rein, so I just ran with this effortless summer night glam idea.

SKIN

BC: Your skin work is so fresh and flawless. How do you get makeup to last without looking like there's anything on?

Bianca: I mix long-wear foundations with skincare, before applying to my client’s face. That way I can customise the base and thin it out so it looks like skin. I usually use one main foundation, then tweak it with concealer and a bit of mixing to give that editorial finish.

BC: Do you go in with creams first?

Bianca: Always. I start with creams, then build into the foundation. I’ll warm the skin with massage if time allows, so everything melts better. I love working with creamy, buttery textures. For application, I love using a sponge for that extra blend. For me, it pushes the product perfectly into the skin.

BC: Do you use any illuminators?

Bianca: Yes! For that look, I used Urban Decay’s new Face Bond Illuminator underneath. I mixed in a more golden-toned highlight with the foundation to give the skin dimension and glow from within.

SCULPTING

BC: The sculpt is so natural yet dimensional. How do you create that?

Bianca: It’s all about layering and the way you place the products. I don’t use harsh contours, it’s the light and glow underneath that sculpts. Controlled shine in key areas, like that middle part of the forehead between the brows, acts like a spotlight for the face.

BC: Love that! What's the difference between glow and sweat?

Bianca: Glow is intentional, glamorous, curated. Sweat is… not! A glow has control and polish to it.

LAYERING

BC: Your finish is so clean. How do you avoid cake or cracks?

Bianca: It’s all in the prep and layers. Thin layers, buffed well. I use a lot of different products, but I work them in carefully. It’s not about piling on, it’s about how you place and blend.

BC: What’s your go-to tool?

Bianca: Fluffy brushes. The bigger the better! I even use blusher brushes on the eyes. I don’t stick to labels. If a brush gives me the effect I want, I use it. And always keep one clean brush handy to diffuse and blend out any harsh lines. That’s one of my biggest tips to my clients.

EYES

BC: Let’s talk eyes. What was the exact look?

Bianca: I kept it minimal: a reflective shimmer, I used Urban Decay’s Space Cowboy right in the middle of the lid to mimic wetness. Then just a soft brown powder liner at the tail of the eye to elongate. I didn’t use black or anything harsh, that would be the difference in overdoing the look.

BC: Did you use lashes?

Bianca: No lashes for this look! Just a very good mascara and patient application of it. It still looked super glam and polished.

LIPS

BC: The lip is magical. Tell us everything.

Bianca: My beautiful model Athena had great lips naturally, so I just made sure my pencil, MAC Nightmoth, was super sharp for clean edges. A pencil sharpener is your best friend when it comes to flawless lips. Then I mixed clear gloss with one of the glitter shadows from Isamaya Beauty. The blue-shift shimmer in it gave the gloss this galactic shimmer.

BC: Without feeling gritty?

Bianca: Exactly. The particles in Isamaya's shadows are so incredibly fine, they blended seamlessly into the gloss. No exfoliator vibes, just shine.

BC: Whats your biggest tip for keeping the lips on all night long?

Bianca: No lipsing in the club!

BALANCE

BC: The whole look was so well balanced. Eyes and lips both made a statement, but nothing clashed.

Bianca: That was the exact goal. Everything shining in its own way without competing. It’s easy to tip over into “too much,” when you’re playing up eyes as well as lips but sometimes knowing where to stop is what makes a look shine. For example, adding a black liner would've taken it too far.
